p>A British man is hoping he will beat the record for Minecraft's longest-running game.

p>Joe Kelly from Cheltenham played the game for 35 hours 35 minutes and 35 second, raising PS1,800 to support cancer research.

p>Martin Fornleitner, Austria, set the record for 24 hours and 10 minutes in the year 2011.
/p>
p>Minecraft is about building structures from blocks, exploring worlds , and taking part in battles.
/p>
p>The book has sold for more than 54 million copies across the globe.
/p>
p>Microsoft purchased Mojang the company behind it for $2.5bn (PS1.5bn) last year.
/p>
p>Mr. Kelly, who owns an entertainment company and is a voice actor, has been playing the game since it was released in 2010. He usually plays just a few hours each week.

p>"Staying awake wasn't too bad I managed the whole thing without caffeine," he told the BBC.
/p>
p>"There there were no stimulants other than for sugar and stubbornness."

p>"My shoulders and back didn't hurt, nor did my shoulders hurt. The most problematic thing was my fingers.

p>"They hurt so much just by holding a mouse and keyboard and clenching them for this long.

p>"Every little break that I got I was flexing my fingers."

p>Mr. Kelly and his girlfriend, Sarah Vallance, are now working on providing evidence of the feat to Guinness World Records.

p>He has no intention of taking a break from the game.

p>"I introduced my girlfriend to Minecraft, we usually play together," he said.

p>" It's something we like to do together. I don't mind gaming."
