p>Minecraft is nearing its final form. In August the Better Together update will land and bring the game to all platforms that is available, from iOS and Android to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The Bedrock Engine powers all mobile, Windows 10 and Amazon Fire versions of Minecraft. It doesn't matter what platform your friends play on to play Minecraft. All versions will be identical, they will share updates and DLC and allow all players to create new worlds.

/p>

p>Nearly all. The first "Better Together" update did not include Minecraft versions for Xbox 360 and PlayStation? 4.

/p>

p>"Beginning with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch We'll expand that code base to ensure that all -the vast majority of our community is united," marketing lead Emily Orrson says.

/p>

p>The Better Together update adds Bedrock to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions of Minecraft and lets them play with nearly every other version of the game. Consoles that are currently playing will be able to download Realms (the multiplayer mode in the game) and the new Community Marketplace. https://txt.fyi/-/22256/a97bd446/ All DLC purchased will also be transferred to Bedrock. The update also brings infinite worlds to Xbox One and Switch, in addition to the limited grid of about 3 miles by 3 miles.

/p>

p>Executive producer Jesse Merriam says that "they've been asking for relief there for several years, and now they will be able to walk straight up inside of these worlds and continue generating them infinitely."

/p>

p>However, users of PS4, the most popular console of current generation, won't be able to move to Bedrock immediately.

/p>

p>"Our aim is to bring together all Minecraft players," Merriam said. "Today we're able to confirm Xbox One and Nintendo Switch however, we're also able to confirm all of our current-gen partners -we're looking to connect all of the Minecraft players. It's just about what we can confirm today."

/p>

p>The Xbox 360 and PS4 versions of Minecraft will keep their platform-specific names. However the Java version will officially be called Minecraft: Java Edition. https://penzu.com/p/bff75834 This is what the majority of gamers refer to it as. So, now, there's the core Minecraft game and three fragmented versions (PS4, Xbox 360 and Java) that aren't guaranteed to receive the same updates or cross-platform features as the main version. It's a great step towards unity, but it's not an entirely seamless leap yet.

/p>

p>"We're working closely with Apple, Google, PlayStation?, Nintendo, Amazon, our VR partners -- and a lot more of that is a lot to make sure that we're always working on every store and everything else," Orrson says. "Right now, we're trying our best to get everybody connected, but it's difficult to think through every scenario we face."

/p>

p>Microsoft bought Minecraft in 2014 for $2.5 billion, so it makes sense the Xbox One version is getting some love in the Better Together update. Sony is the one who creates the PS4.

/p>

p>Aubrey Norris, senior global communications manager, stated that "it's not because we don't want to put in the effort." "We are in discussions with our partners right now. We want PlayStation? and we invite Sony to bring PlayStation? players onto Bedrock however we are unable to get any further into discussions that are not confidential. discussions."

/p>

p>Mojang and Microsoft aren't finished with Minecraft. Better Together is part of a larger effort to transform Minecraft into an "creative platform." Developers want it to be more than a game. It should be the base of community-driven innovation, connection and creativity.

/p>

p>The Community Marketplace that was launched in Pocket and Windows 10 editions in June was a major part of this change. It allows players to look for, purchase, and sell their in-game creations.

/p>

p>Servers are also receiving some attention in Better Together. The servers allow players to play around in completely unique worlds created by dedicated fans. The Servers tab will appear between the "Worlds", "Friends" and "Friends” tabs at start up. This will introduce a brand new group of players to fan-favorite universes such as Lifeboat which was created by a 14-year-old boy and his father. Lifeboat boasts 6,000,000 players each month. Initial servers landing on Bedrock are Lifeboat, CubeCraft?, Mineplex and InPvP.

/p>

p>One final update will make Minecraft even more self-contained: A built-in recipe book for crafting.

/p>

p>"We would like to combine the strengths of the existing crafting systems together," Merriam says. "Today the Java edition is known for its exploration and discovery when you visit the crafting grid and play around with things and see what is an actual recipe."

/p>

p>The recipe book will allow players to toggle recipes in the crafting grid. This eliminates the need to start the game and find the relevant Wiki page. But, those who like to experiment with recipes can leave the book out completely.

/p>

p>Merriam states, "Anyone who has interacted with a fervent Minecraft fan will understand that there's a great sense of joy a child can feel when they've got the recipe for a vessel."
