p>Xbox has joined forces with preservation society National Trust (opens in new tab) and some British creatives to make an Minecraft model of Corfe Castle. The rather complex impressive construction was funded by Xbox UK as part of the National Trust's archaeology festival, encouraging people to create "their own version of the castle using the foundations."

p>To accomplish this, this first build was created by a YouTube? video maker named Grian, whose work is featured in the video above as well as on YouTube?. (opens in new tab) By working off of historical photos and consulting with an expert, then using Minecraft build skills with a bit of artistic license, Grian creates a build that focuses on the most interesting features of Corfe Castle, such as its historic Octagonal tower and miniature palace, or "Gloriette." https://www.file-upload.com/r0if45cfxooi It's a medieval Kingly version I believe, of the Victorian folly.

p>"Grian has done a brilliant job of restoring Corfe Castle to its former splendor. He not only created an accurate reproduction of the various historical styles within the castle grounds but he also incorporated it into his own imagination. We are eager to see more inspirational designs by more young minds," said Martin Papworth, an archaeologist at the National Trust.
