p>The creator of the content, from San Francisco, who kept his identity closely guarded and only made his name public in his final video as Alex, soared to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft on YouTube? back in 2013 - eventually becoming a household name after accumulating more than 10 million subscribers.

p>He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in August. He was able to spend the majority of the year away from the media while being treated for cancer.

p>In August the same month, he revealed the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in a video titled 'Where I've been'. It has since been viewed 13 million times.

p>In the video, he told his fans that he was diagnosed with cancer after thinking there was an injury to his arm and revealing: 'In the last few days of July my right arm began to hurt quite a bit.'
