p>Minecraft is an online game that allows its player to build constructions from textured cubes in a three-dimensional environment. The alpha version of the game was first released by Mojang, a Swedish company, in the month of May of 2009. In December 2010, another beta version was released. Recently, Mojang released the latest version of Minecraft for iOS and Android platforms on November 18, 2011 during the MineCon? 2011 trade exhibition. However there are a few Android-based devices that support the game. Minecraft is currently only available for Xperia Play.

p>Graphically, there's nothing impressive about Minecraft. The game is available in low-resolution images and there aren't any shades within the game's graphics. The shortcomings can be overcome with Minecraft Texture packs or Mods. The Minecraft Texture Mods and Packs don't provide more options of backgrounds from the Minecraft world. The Mods also improve the resolution of the images. Basically, aside from altering the graphics, there are no other applications for the Mods. However, different backgrounds can make gaming more fun and less boring. These Mods or texture packs are currently only available for Macs and Windows computers. https://guimods.com/ </p>

p>Many texture packs are available for you to download and install on your Minecraft game. Optifine is one of them. The Optifine mod is extremely popular due to its texture pack having both improved performance and graphical qualities. The change is not a major change. The mod does, however smooth certain aspects of the game. Another example of a Minecraft mod is the Water Shade Alpha. It is not possible to use this mod with Optifine because they aren't compatible with each one. Water Shade Alpha texture pack enhances the water effects of the game.

p>These are the steps needed to install a texture application on Windows.

/p>

p>1. Make sure you have an extractor application such as WinRar?.

/p>

p>2. Open the start menu and select the "run" option. If you use Windows XP, type "%appdata%.minecraftbin"; if you use Windows Vista or 7, you will need to type "C:Users*YourUserName?*AppDataRoaming?.minecraftbin".

/p>

p>3. After entering the data, you'll be able to see a folder appear. There is minecraft.jar inside.

/p>

p>4. Right-click on the file, then click the "Open With ..."" option from the pop-up menu and choose "WinRar? Archiver". This will open WinRar?, which will display folders and files with an extension of png.

/p>

p>5. Drag the textures from the pack and drop them into WinRar? directly. This will alter the texture of the game and your new textures will be ready for play.
