p>LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade is a top YouTube? creator who is a specialist in Minecraft let's play videos, has died just one year after he announced a cancer diagnosis, according to an announcement from his family. He was 23 years old.

p>In an emotional YouTube? video shared on Technoblade's channel Thursday the YouTuber?'s father revealed that his son had passed away. "He was the most amazing child anyone could ever wish for," his father said. "I miss Technoblade."

p>The video that was uploaded on Thursday, titled "so long nerds" included a posthumous note from Technoblade's creator to his fans and was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're here I'm dead," Technoblade's message said, revealing that his real name is Alex. "Thank for all of you who have been supportive of my content over the years. If I had another hundred years, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time since those were the most enjoyable years of my life."

p>On Technoblade's online store, a message says "In the memory of his passing A portion of the proceeds from all online orders will be donated to a fantastic organization called curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

p>Technoblade, whose online avatar was a crowned King Pig, currently has 10.8 million subscribers on his YouTube? channel. "I play too many video games. I might not be the best, but I do have hot elbows," his YouTube? bio reads.

p>A statement at the end of the video shared Thursday read "We the Technoblade family Technoblade, wanted you all to know just how much he loved and valued his followers and colleagues. Since the beginning of Technoblade's online presence, he was constantly figuring out ways to delight and reward his followers. Even after his eventual success, he was able to keep his good-natured modesty, while competing with an endearing balance between his confidence and self-deprecating humor. We ask you to respect his desire to keep his identity secret and to keep him from becoming famous.

p>The statement continued, "This year has been challenging for our son as we battled cancer at the stage four." He didn't whine and continued to utilize his strategic thinking to overcome what he knew was almost impossible odds. My son's bravery in this situation was a shining example for all of us who were fortunate enough to walk this path with him. Thank you for sharing the journey he took and for doing the work he enjoyed for his beloved fans."

p>Technoblade disclosed his cancer diagnosis in August 2021. He stated that he felt pain in his right arm since the beginning of August. At first, he thought it was caused by repetitive stress injuries that result from playing. After several days the shoulder began swelling and thought that he might have fractured bone. He was later diagnosed with cancer.
