p>The story of Minecraft sounds like a great film script. https://downwithdestruction.net/ Notch is the main genius programmer who, starting as an indie, transformed the game industry completely by doing what he was passionate about. Also, he made plenty of money throughout the process. Plus, he made even more money when he got tired of it all and sold Minecraft. But perhaps a movie is not necessary, as it is very well documented. And most people know the story. A large part of that story happened online. We have blogs, websites, forum posts, tweets and YouTube? videos. We don't have a timeline that shows the development of Minecraft (until today). Then I began watching closely Minecraft and its creator. Because it was a wonderful story. One man and his computer revolutionized the world. My personal favorite type of story! I remember being stunned when Notch entered a game-coding contest and livecaught the entire thing. This was something that I love to today. (Mind you this is an abbreviated version, but the whole thing ran for 48 hours). This was a different kind of guy! The magic of game design were revealed right in front of you. It was way too fast to comprehend the whole picture however it gave a great sense of what it takes to create an online game. Just him, and his computer using Java IDE Eclipse and Paint.net. These are the same tools he used to create Minecraft. I later learned, from the contest that there are other competent programmers just like him. Not everyone is able to be rich. But , as with Notch, most of them are not in it because of that reason).

p>Minecraft is a unique story, so I created one.

/p>

p>These are a few of the most important things about this timeline.

/p>

p>- Notch began working on Minecraft just a few weeks prior to taking on a new job (at jAlbum, which is the same software this site also uses!) - Notch worked for a year developing Minecraft before he decided to quit his job. At the time, around 20.000 copies had been sold! The game was in the alpha stage. It was promising, to say the very least. The second quarter of 2010 was a complete disaster as was the beginning half of 2011. They created the company around Minecraft: Mojang, hired a lot of employees, made a lot of changes to the game, released another game (completely different), talked with Valve, organised MineCon?, had an unjustified lawsuit to their name, and amidst all that they sold millions of copies of Minecraft! - A lot of important Minecraft things seem to be happening on June 1 for a few years in consecutive years (this also coincides with the birthday of Notch).

/p>

p>The Minecraft story is far from finished. Minecraft is still going strong and setting new records. However, Notch and Minecraft were at one point part of the same story but are now moving in distinct timelines.

/p>

p>Whatever happens, the story of Minecraft will always be an inspiring story and its impact on the gaming and entertainment industry will be echoed for many years to come. It's even more unique that thanks to the power of Youtube we have this video from 2009.
