NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today unveiled new records for tourist arrivals to Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022 that's a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019. Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He stated, "It's so exciting to witness a further rise in tourism to Israel from America, already exceeding or even surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019". "The United States has been the most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, we had record number of Israeli tourism entries each month. Canada is set to surpass Israel's arrivals in tourist numbers by attracting 7,200 tourists to Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August. Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) said that "it is thrilling to watch how Canada's tourist to Israel is rebounding." "We are not too far away from our record 2019 numbers We are hoping that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians remain comfortable travelling abroad."
Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they have been vaccinated. Israel has already hosted more than 600,000.
