NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourists arriving from the United States. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022, an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% increase over 2019. "It is so thrilling to once again see an increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers of 2019." said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been our most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak we were celebrating record figures of the number of tourists entering Israel each month. Canada is also on track, just as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada received 7,200 visitors and August was a record 6,000. Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that it was exciting to see tourism from Canada to Israel rebounding. "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are anticipating that the growth in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians continue to feel more comfortable traveling abroad."
Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019 including 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless if they are vaccinated. Israel has already hosted over 600,000.
